Summer has fully arrived in the Bitterroot, and if you have been sitting on the fence about buying in Darby, this is the season that makes the case for you. The mountains are gorgeous, the river is running nicely, and the whole valley feels like it is showing off a little. (Doesn’t it always?)
Main Street has a new reason to stop and stay awhile too. Studmuffins Bakery opened its doors and is serving up fresh baked goods, coffee, tea, and breakfast sandwiches right in the heart of town. It is the kind of small, personal touch that makes Darby feel like a real community rather than just a place on the map, and it is quickly becoming a favorite morning stop for locals and visitors alike. They recently added the best box lunches to grab and go for your day out hiking or fishing!
Speaking of fishing, it’s excellent right now! The main Bitterroot River, along with the East and West Forks, is fishing well this time of year, and anglers are out in force enjoying some of the best water in western Montana. If you want current conditions before you head out, the Bitterroot Fly Company keeps an up-to-date fishing report you can check before you go. Or just stop in and say hi to them, don’t forget to visit us right next door.
And of course, rodeo season is in full swing. The Darby Rodeo Association keeps the Western spirit alive all summer long with PRCA rodeos and events at the Richard Cromwell Memorial Rodeo Grounds, supporting youth rodeo programs and keeping this tradition going strong for the next generation.
All of this is a good reminder of why people fall in love with the Bitterroot Valley. It is not just the land and homes, it is the lifestyle that comes with them.
If you have been thinking about making a move, summer is a great time to see a property at its best. Reach out to the Alpine Realty team and let us help you find your place in the Bitterroot this season.
