1. Clean up those pine needles and cones!
Grab a rake, maybe your kids, and make fun activities of burning up those pesky needles. This way you are not only spending time outside with your family but also your property will look very clean after.
2. Start a garden!
A garden can be a great way to connect with your roots (literally). Getting in the dirt can be relaxing and you get to enjoy the benefits of fresh produce.
3. Honey-do’s and house updates
All those little projects you couldn’t do over the winter because there was too much snow well now is the time! With the weather starting to warm up, get the materials you need to get outside and get those projects done. The warmer weather could be just what you need to jump start those projects!
4. Spring Cleaning
This can be anything from cleaning out your kitchen cabinets to getting rid of clutter that has been piling up in your house.
5. Yard sale season!
Any clothes that you have been wanting to donate, maybe you got a new table well now is the time to sell that old table and get it out of your house. This way you can free up space in your house and maybe a little room in your brain.
6. It’s almost mowing season
Pull the lawn mower out of storage and fire it up!
7. Give those windows a scrub
Windows collect a lot of dust, especially if you have a wood fireplace. Washing the inside and outside of your window can really brighten up your home.
8. Get your outdoor furniture ready
We do live in Montana so it might be awhile before we can ‘really’ use our outdoor furniture but this way it’s out of the attic and on the porch ready to go when BBQ season starts!
9. Never underestimate a fresh coat of paint
Maybe that office room is finally cleared out and it hasn’t been painted in years. A fresh paint job can help spruce up the room.
10. Have your house assessed for defensible space
If you live in the WUI (Wildland Urban Interface) it’s a good idea to have your house assessed early in case there is a wildfire near your house. This gives you a little more piece of mind and it is possible to lower your insurance a little.
Whether you are selling or staying, this is a great way to get your house looking shiny and new!
